Mixed media tag with assemblage of antique pocket watch parts and an antique vial of china paint. The bottom layer is a Stampers Anonymous chipboard tag. I covered the tag in mixed media paper painted with speckled egg Distress paint and covered with Distress crackle paste. The next level up is ink sprays and ink and paint splatters on mixed media paper that I have stamped and embossed with some of my favorite Alison Bomber Paper Artsy stamps. I diecut the butterfly using a Sizzix Tim Holtz die set from watercolor paper painted with a wash of watercolor. I made some small bundles of parchment paper topped with a fragment that I embossed in silver and tied with bookbinding thread. I also rolled and tied some embossed fragments. I used Seth Apter Space Dust Wow! embossing powder on the tag reinforcement that is actually not centered or used as a reinforcement. The items on top are very old - a vial of Violet china paint that I have not altered except for the wire I wrapped around the top. The round disk under the paint vial is an Elgin pocket watch face with the back side facing up. The front side is actually really beautiful but I loved the colors and tiny crackles in the back side even more. I have not altered this piece in any way. The vials and tiny tin box still contain the tiny watch parts that were in them when they came to me. Thanks so much for looking. I appreciate your comments.
