Love the techniques and overall effect but the ribbon on the bottom right seems intrusive. Also, the LO doesn't pull any color from the photo -- except maybe for some pink in the pants?
So cute - the only thing that concerns me is that the colors in the skates are very attention-grabbing but do not match anything in the rest of the layout... Moi's idea of a yellow flower might work, but I can't picture it.
So many techniques... yet they all work together. My suggestion is to some how pull the primary color from the skates in the photo out to the LO. Maybe a lg yellow flower behind the date tag or some red fiber to replace the pink.
Such a great subject! I love the use of ribbon everywhere. The bookplate marking the date is really unique to. I agree with the others on moving the picture on the left and the G. And maybe the ribbon on the bottom right, it takes away from the picture.
Ugh! I actually LOVE this the way it is. LOVE so much about it, too many to list. The only thing that bugs me is that the ribbon is placed over the photo on the far right. I'd rather you trim the photo just after her hand, space the ribbon a teeny bit away from this photo, and give the ribbon its own mat. Thassit. I like it, don't touch anymore. Listen to me and no one else, and you'll be just fiiine. (Evil snickering behind hand.)
I have to again agree with Robyn that the picture and "g" may have looked better swapped out.
I love the colors, the ribbon and especially the date stamp, too cool! When i saw the title on the link i was expecting a teen LO, when I saw her my first word was "awwwww" Would be soo cool if you get her as a teen also skating and put these 2 side by side some day!
Hi Tiff.
First off I love how you're titles are always soo cools. The "WHAT A" and the stamped are soo cools. That journaling block that looks like a typewriter was used is just genious.
I would have moved the photos so that they were in the middle of the page and got rid of the top one. In the space above the row of pictures and journaling I would put that awesome title. In the bottom, I would put that ribbon you put on the photo and remove it from the photo. I think the colors are great, the title especially but I only think the placement needs some helpings. Everything else is superb! I can learn soo much from you!
I was wondering if anyone would be curious about the G. Her name is Gabriela and I have a habit of using monograms on their layouts. (I am OCD about things.) I was trying to balance the pics a bit. The pic was first the embellishment was to fill the spot. :)
I gotta be honest... you're throwing me off with that whole "G on the right side thing". I don't know about you, but these "all vertical pic" LOs get me everytime. I'm doing one right now and it's kickin my butt. I would have swapped the whole placement of the top with the "G" on the left and the pic on the right. I probably also would have swapped the "what a s8ter girl" with the date bookplate (which I love, btw) and I would have put the bookplate horizontal. I love your little "special" ribbon underneath the picture. Curious, which came first, the picture or that embellishment? Even if the picture were on the right side you could still use it placed beside the picture vertically toward the top. That's all for now, I'll let someone else have a turn...
