A nod to the Steve Miller Band, with the "Fly Like An Eagle" lyric. It was running through my mind as I created this card, it was appropriate.

This is a belated birthday card, it will be about 2 weeks late. I'm still trying to catch up on time after a very hectic, emotional end to 2022.

Time was definitely the theme here. I also visited the Color Throwdown for the first time in a while, and found the white/gray/navy color scheme, and went with it. https://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/

I used a clock die from Graphic 45, and cut my own stencil to add the navy color for the background. Tim Holtz/Sizzix Gearhead dies just seemed to fit perfectly and I used them to make the cutout and the clock center.

I have been adding the Distress Spray Stains to my stash, and experimenting some more gave me the shiny, navy bowler and bow tie. I purposely did not do any shading on the gray accents to the bowler in order to stand out from the background. I know tie tacks probably are not used with bow ties, but I added a rhinestone one anyway with my sparse embellishments.

Hardest part of this card was getting the die cut words in place. I had to resort to using Tombow multipurpose tacky glue, which I don't particularly care for because it remains tacky after drying and any ooze is a pain to get rid of. However, it was required here, as all my other glues would dry too quickly for me to get those letters into place otherwise. That, and Press'N Seal, saved me some grief, except for the time it took me to do it all. There is that "time" word, again.

Overall, I'm good with the results.

Stampin' Up! supplies: Smoky Slate and Night of Navy cardstocks; Night of Navy ink pad; Something Fancy sentiment stamp set; Basic Rhinestones.
