Ah, I remember the good 'ol pad of yours.....seems like just yesterday. I have to say, there is nothing quite like waking up and walking on a cold floor. It feels great in the morning!! Especially feels great after walking all damn day, you know? And, I will say, I will always remember your place. I felt like I was at home. These pages are great. They truly capture the moment.

Shangri-La (not!)

TWO LONG MONTHS in this small hotel room in the Navy Lodge as newlyweds who just moved to Japan...you'd think it was a recipe for disaster, but we got along famously, despite the occasional crankiness of cabin fever. We managed to cook quite a few meals in that tiny kitchenette! We dreaded saying that we "lived" at the Navy Lodge, so we called it our little Shangri-La (with every ounce of irony intended!)
