Wow Lis, you did the "close your eyes" exercise!!! Yay!!! Wasn't that fun??? It was an exercise that I just fell in love with when I was painting. I can see several things you could have pulled out, but the bird is just awesome! Love, love love everything about this fabulous drawing!

Dawna proposed this exercise in the January Mixed Media challenge thread. In a nutshell, close your eyes and move your pencil around the page randomly. When done, look at the abstract shapes, identify and outline a shape (kind of like looking clouds) in ink. I saw a bird in mine and opted to color the abstract patterns using colored pencils and metallic watercolor (the copper).
