Journaling: This Danish-designed church, located in Budiar, Iceland was established in 1703. This church is all that remains of a one-time prosperous fishing village. It also has quite a strange origin story. According to legend, a man was spun around in circles till he was drunk, then given three arrows to shoot off. Wherever the third arrow landed would dictate where the church would be built.
The Church is coated with black tar for weather protection.
This scenery is a photographers dream. Depending on the angle that you are snapping from you can have a glacier as a backdrop. Or you can simple change angles and get the mountain range and lava fields behind it instead.
