The Empty Tomb

I had the idea to make my mum a meaningful Easter card this year that depicted 'the empty tomb'. So I took a couple of die sets from Whimsy and created the stone hill and tombstone. I sketched out where the elements would go, so I knew where to lay my colours. I used Oxide Inks to lay down the colours for a sunrise sky and used a lovely sun stencil from Whimsy to add the rising sun in behind the tomb. I used Black Soot Oxide Ink to colour in the empty tomb. I added shadow and highlight to the hill and stone with Black Soot and Lost Shadow Oxide Inks. I added a simple, poignant sentiment to finish.
