My SIL, who I love to bits, is an "aqua fanatic" and I indulge her fetish whenever I can. She and DH recently bought a beautiful new home so, of course, I wanted to make them a congratulations card to go with their housewarming gift. They had painted the door on their old house aqua so I knew I wanted to use this particular SU! image on white cs and 'paint' the door aqua. I had some aqua cs for the background layer but it was too plain for what I envisioned and I needed to add some interest. I used a swirly stencil to blend on a shade darker ink and I liked the not-too-fussy effect. I die-cut the stamped image with a deckle-edged rectangle and heat embossed the edges in my go-to Ranger Princess Gold embossing powder. I used just a titch (my grandmother's word) of gold paint to highlight the door hardware and popped the image up on some cut-to-size white fun foam.
