HAHA! The struggle is real! We leave a planter up for the mourning doves. They've been coming back to it every year for the past 5-6 years. They do 3-4 broods a season. We love them! We feel like we are part of their family! We just found a LARGE robin's nest in our magnolia tree, too. Not too sure I am thrilled with that, though. The tree is still young and is more in the way of foot traffic, but we will just let it be..... And, BTW..I am a HUGE doily fan. I think they make layouts pop right out :)
there is something about your home that makes them feel safe! How fun to see new life so close by. Though I can see the down side. The flower paper is so pretty and goes perfect with the doily.
I am surrounded by birdsand Im not sure its a good thing. Last year I had mourning birds who chose a flowerpot to create new life. This year, I have birds making nests in my shutters in the front of my house (I think there are multiple bird families, making the shutters a bird-condo). I also have a different species of birds nesting in the (nonfunctioning) kitchen air vent on the back of the house. All makes for a LOT of bird poop!
