We're back from a very quick visit to Germany. Our one-week trip flew by, we had a few things to do for my Mum, but we also spent lot of time together, had fun and a lovely time.
We also took part in my mum's care home annual Summer Fete. What a magical day that was! The care staff pulled out all the stops, they created a nautical wonderland and dressed up appropriately - we even met Neptune! All the residents helped to make the decorations. We were treated to plenty of scrumptious food, from cakes and gateaux to nibbles and a huge fish buffet. And we were all offered a light tipple: a light summer punch for the ladies and bottles of beer for the gents.
There was plenty of entertainment and laughter, a sing-along hour and live music played by a marching band. We even had a bit of a dance and had the best time ever. I documented this on the tag I added to the LO. The highlight came in the evening when we were all handed a balloon. We all gathered outside the marquee and at 6pm we let them fly off into the bright evening sky! They took all our secret wishes with them.
