You cant go to Amsterdam and not, at the very least, peek at the gorgeous Delft tiles. This shop was an excellent stop - two huge spaces of nothing but Delft-ware, most of them very old. In fact, the back room was where museum-quality pieces were carefully tucked away. One of the shopkeepers was very kind and went through the history of the tiles, vases, and processes as well as pulled out some of the very very very old (and expensive) pieces. In the main space were scores of bins and drawers brimming with tiles - from very old to fairly new. The shop also has an extensive collection of KLM miniature houses and other KLM collectibles. Loved the shop so much, I went twice!
Pulled out my tile stencils (almost forgot I had them!) an;d blue inks. Since Delft-ware comes in many shades of blues, browns and even reds, I used a few different blues (though it was because I was trying to find the right shade). The photos are two of the tiles I purchased. The flowers/vase is fussy-card from a card set I bought for the purpose of embellishing my LOs (since there were no tulips blooming in February).
