Journaling reads: "Close your eyes. Take yourself back to your grandparent's house. What do you feel? See? Hear? Smell? I feel fear. I am thinking about that pressure cooker grandma used in canning. I was so scared of it...hearing the top of it hiss and seeing it jiggle, being told not to jump around or it might explode. I feel helpful. I am in the kitchen, helping grandma wash and dry dishes. I am sitting on the porch, stringing and snapping green beans and shucking corn with grandpa. I feel hungry. Smelling the biscuits and gravy that grandma used to fix...sometimes especially for me because of how much I loved them. I feel comfort. I am in the spare bed, spending the night, and grandma is in her bedroom telling me fairy tales. I feel fulfilled. I am in the living room with grandma and grandpa and we are watching Hee-Haw and Lawrence Welk together. I feel safe. I feel loved. Unconditionally." All products are from the Creating Keepsakes Family Heritage Album Kit I couldn't find a good shot of my grandparent's house or of us doing the activities I discussed (my grandma is not a big fan of getting her picture taken), so I settled for pictures of me at their house looking happy and safe. I may eventually make this a two-page layout when I can find a front-on picture of their house.
