Since the layout was about kittens I started with a themed piece of paper. I then added a 3.5 inch piece of paper in the middle and 2 strips of the reverse side of the heart paper on the top and bottom. I cut 2 1/2 inch strips of red cardstock to border the middle section and matted my photos in another red cardstock. Using cricut I journaled the story behind the kittens, created a border and attached it to a square so cricut would both write the journaling and cut out the square at the same time. I used white for the title and placed it on the solid strips so it would pop.
