I started with cream cardstock for the Big Festive Bow and embossed it. Then, i used prismacolor pencils. The foliage i colored just the raised areas using the side of my pencil (like you would if you did leaf rubbings). I colored in the berries and bow. Next, because i wanted to have a background color, i used a blending brush over the entire thing with Distress Oxide, first with Gathered Twigs and i wiped it back with a slightly damp cloth to get the pencil color to show a bit, and then i wanted more contrast, so i did Ground Expresso. (BTW i only have 5 of Lisa's ink pads so far, so i don't know what is comparable). After i did that i wanted to highlight everything more.. so i pulled out Tim Holtz distress crayons and used them like a wax (remember they are water reactive), i used Iced Spruce, Peppermint Stick, Tree Lot, and Bubbling Cauldron. Then i wanted to highlight the foliage and bow so i used Sizzix Luster Wax - Rose Gold. I used the Rose Gold on the Woodgrain as well. Then i splattered white gesso on everything.
