This LO is a tribute to my husband. I've been working on it for a very long time. Neither he nor our dog are that white - LOL! Scanner has issues with colors and cutting off the edges. Typed Journaling Reads: HERO. A man admired for his achievements and noble qualities. One that shows great courage. An object of extreme admiration and devotion. All of those definitions describe my husband. Sometimes he doesn’t realize these things about himself and I don’t often tell him, but he is definitely a man with noble qualities. He is dedicated to his job and takes his role as a public servant with grace and humility. I know sometimes it’s difficult when he is trying to help someone and that person is calling him terrible names, spitting on him, or trying to fight him, but Keith manages to maintain his composure for much longer than most of us would. He is always polite and courteous when dealing with the public, regardless of their demeanor or state of mind. He calls people “sir” or “ma’am” and is never condescending. The bottom line is he treats people with respect. He treats people the way he wants to be treated. I admire him for that and so does everyone who knows him. When people find out who my husband is, they always tell me what a “great guy” he is. I just smile and agree. I am proud to be Keith’s wife.

Keith has an enormous sense of duty when it comes to his job. He is strong and courageous and never shirks his responsibilities. He is a man who says what he means and means what he says. If he tells you he will do something, you can count on it getting done. Keith is a shift supervisor and the men and women who work with him know without a doubt they can count on him to back them up. They know he will do whatever he has to do to make sure they go home to their families. Likewise, he gives his own family that same assurance – that he will do whatever it takes to come home to us. There have been some scary moments and some experiences that could have turned out badly, but by maintaining a level head and making clear decisions, he has never let us down.

Keith’s love for and sense of loyalty to his family goes above and beyond what we could ask. He is someone I can count on for support and encouragement in times of sorrow or confusion and he celebrates my accomplishments. I can be sure he will tell me he loves me every single day and he shows it with his actions. He is kind and sensitive. He works two jobs and long hours to provide for his family. He makes sure we have everything we need and some things we don’t need, but that make us happy. I admire and am grateful for his dedication to and love for us.

Being a father just came naturally to Keith. The moment he held our first-born daughter in his arms, he was forever “Daddy.” Raising three children hasn’t been the easiest road, but he travels it with the same determination and dedication for which he does everything else. He loves his children unconditionally and shows them every day how important they are to him. He was willing to change diapers, feed them, and bathe them from the very beginning of their lives. He is a hands-on dad in every way. Since he works so much, he makes sure to

spend quality time with all three children. When he has a day off from work, he often
takes them fishing. They spend an entire day with their dad doing something they
all enjoy. When they come home, they always have interesting and funny stories
to tell. I know these will be some of their most important memories when they are
grown. From little things like taking Garrett to the barber shop on a Saturday
morning to bigger things like playing Barbies with Caitlyn when she was little and
helping Claire learn to ride a bicycle, he does them all with a great amount of
love. Keith doesn’t miss many activities that the children are involved in either.
Even if he is working, he can usually find a way to attend. It may be for only a
short while, but he is there and the children know it. Family is his first priority and
I appreciate that more than I can say.

Keith is a wonderful husband, an amazing father, a loyal friend and a dedicated
police officer. He is an extraordinary everyday hero.
Handwritten Journaling Reads: Moegtar (Russian meaning Brave & Fearless). He was Keith's K9 partner for 8 years before he was retired. It's ture that he was a dog, but Keith couldn't have had a better partner. Moegie ALWAYS had his back regardless of the Dept. politics. Moegie saved Keith's life more than once and we will always be grateful for his heroic actions.
