Update: So after I reorganized my primary ribbon drawer this week, I still had quite a few rows of ribbon double stacked. Which means that I couldn't "see" all of my ribbon choices. To solve this problem, I freed up one more large dresser drawer (previously held tissue paper, which was rehomed with my shipping supply drawer) and moved all my metallic, white, cream, black and brown ribbons to this third ribbon drawer. I was thrilled to gain so much space in my primary drawer! I had enough space to move about a dozen bolts of ribbon off my crafting desk and into my primary drawer (see pics 6-8) . Yay! Now I feel confident that I can easily find and put away ribbon without creating a jumbled mess! I think this is a much more manageable system, that should be quite easy to maintain over time. Thanks for your visit! ~Dawna

Original Post: These pics are the "before" and "after" shots of my ribbon drawers for the Organization Challenge hosted by Maria. The first two pics are the "before" and the 3rd pic is "after" for my primary ribbon drawer. I reorganized the ribbons in color groups making it easier to find what I'm looking for. Notice that the 1st pic shows the ribbon stacked two rows deep. The final result still has several rows stacked two deep, making it a bit more difficult to "see" everything I have. But, I have freed up enough space for growth in this primary drawer (as if I need anymore ribbon! lol). The rolls can easily be reached and returned to their spot. I purged 3 dozen rolls for donation, and purged my Christmas ribbon and a few bulky trims which I moved to a second drawer. To accommodate this ribbon, I purged a second drawer of die cutting plates and platforms that I never touch (see pic 4). Recycled all my old marred up plates and stowed the balance under a dresser to free up space for my Christmas and certain specialty trims (see pic 5) .
