Journaling: Slave to the Rhythm (modified) Early teens, Wanted to find out What it was like, What it was all about, Saw the photographs Read the magazines, Jack Daniels, cocaine and cowboy boots; I went to my first show alone, Got in early; Sat near the front, I became a slave to the rhythm, A freak for the guitars, Live music A passion of mine; Immersed myself At every opportunity, All the big bands Played our town,

Now, Middle aged and still in slavery I attend whenever I can Traveling the country wide But Not as when I was a teen, Things slightly different now, starstruckism gone. I don't stay out after midnight And only the occasional social drink, Rarely bother queuing for merchandise And you won't find me Screaming for an encore at the end of the set But yet, I'm still a slave to the rhythm And a freak for the guitar.
