Journaling reads:
In the early to late-70s, Mama volunteered to type up the bulletin for our church. She would type it up at home and then we would go out to the church and run off the copies on the mimeograph machine, fold them by hand and put on the address labels for mailing them out. She even drew some of the art and wrote poems to include in them occasionally. Below is one of her writings

BEAUTY ON HIGH
High above the earth above the forest of white trees above the distant white cities or white mountains of beautiful clouds floating below all part of the magnificent handiwork of God. All this and the sparkling from the shining rays of the evening sun as it goes slowly down in the west. Then, as the clouds turn slowly from their brilliant white to blue, purple and red it reminds one of the death on the cross the robe, the love and the blood that was shed, washing our sins as white as snow.

We look down through the clouds at the homes, the cities, rivers, trees, farmland and mountains all part of Gods handiwork that we so often forget in our rush to keep up with the things of the world. All this, too, reminding us that even though we know not when the Son of God will come again we must be prepared, as God is preparing our heavenly home for us. The rays of the sun have faded as swiftly the dark of the night surrounds us but we know God is in His Heaven, and it is well with my soul. --- Ruth Pace Perdue (Written aboard Flight 98 to Portland, Oregon on September 22, 1976)

When I saw this typewriter pp in Walmart one day, I knew that it was just what I wanted to record Mama's story on. The pp is from a Colorbok pad called vintage treasures. First, I cut the paper holder on the typewriter with an x-acto knife in order to slide in the Trumpeter. I then cut again around the ribbon, etc in order to slide the remainder of the Trumpeter underneath the typewriter. Then I backed the page with a light green. The right hand page was made using the light green and adding a pocket on the bottom to slide in another copy of the Trumpeter. The I added ribbon along the top edges of the pocket and a torn "wood" border on the right. Other embellies are from my stash. The photo of the typewriter at the top right is the actual one Mama used for typing and I added a photo of Mama from that time period at the bottom. Thanks so much for stopping by :)
