I bought this set just for the stitched and inlaid butterflies. I don't have a Glimmer Machine and don't plan to buy one.
I know the size of the card is rather odd, but I started with the size of the die-cut and went out from there to determine the sizes of the mat and card base.
When I received this die set, I started making butterflies to use as samples to index the die packet, but after all that work, I decided to use them on cards. This is the first one I've used. For this one, I opted for the inlay technique. To create the back layer, I put double sided adhesive on the cardstock before die-cutting it so that all the tiny pieces didn't fall out. I wanted a solid background that would show through the lacy top layer.
