At about 6 mos, Herbert got neutered. He started exhibiting the unpleasant signs of "maturity," so it was time! He recovered really fast, although it seemed like an eternity that we had to keep a cone on him. This shoddy one, supplied by the vet, disintegrated within 24 hours, so we went out and got a sturdy plastic one.
