The japaneese hinging tape I found at Michaels and can be searched on the net. I found it listed on a website under scrapbooking-adhesives "For instant Japanese hinges that will not harm your artwork. Tape has pretorn edges, is water reversible and acid free, and made of strong Japanese paper. Quick and easy to apply."

You rip off an inch and wet it and it will stick to your paper or photos. There are two ways to attach it. hidden and showing. This is great for journaling because you attach the photo and it hinges (flips) and you can read the journaling.

Use as many hinges as needed. Two on the top work well. Can also be applied for a 'book' open. these directions are for a flip up open.

first way- lay your pictures as you want them and then flip it up so it is face down above where you want it to be. (think a spiralbound book, the tape acts as the spiral part.) take a 1in strip that is wet and stick it halfway to the paper and halfway to the photo. take another 1in piece and lay it across (plus sign) the half on the paper. this renforces the hinge. then let dry and flip the picture back down. the hinge is hidden when the pucture is down.

Second way- (see photo) simmilar to the first but the plus sign is on top of the picture and paper. This can be done by wetting the 1in strip and the flipping the picture up and then placing the strip half over the picture and half under the picture. use something plastic to prevent it from sticking to the top of the photo. when it is dry close the flip picture and add the other strip in the plus sign.

I will try and get more pics and type this up clearer soon!
