My three cousins and I call ourselves sisters.
Journaling reads;
A sister is the friend you can’t shake when she annoys you. A sister is the one who shares all your memories. She is the one who remembers the time-out’s and the trips to the park, or the pool, or to church. A sister is the one who knows exactly where you are ticklish, and exactly what buttons to push to make you angry. A sister is the one you know will be there when it’s important. She is the one you can go without talking to for 3 weeks, but know no matter what- you can call her when you need her.
We may not have come from the same mother, and we may have different fathers. But they are my sisters nonetheless. They share my memories, and my fears. I know them better than they know, and I can tell their moods from a mile away.
They are my sisters- I claim them as my own, whether they like it or not.
