Journaling:
I admit it, I’m a Cinderella purist. You didn’t know there was such a thing? Well, I may be the only one, although I am instructing Garrett and Juliana
on the finer points. You see, when I was a little bitty girl waaaaaaayyyyy back in the 70s and my mom was reading me the story of Cinderella (daily,
I might add, because I was madly in love with it) one of the details I focused the most on was Cinderella’s ball gown. It was a wonderment of fairy
godmother magic, elegant and soft and sparkly and feminine and utterly unlike anything I’d ever seen. Oh, and it was WHITE. White, not BLUE, as
it has somehow come to be portrayed in the interval between now and then. My love for the story has inspired me to collect little Cinderella mementos
when I see one that I really like, but it annoys me to no end that Disney has chosen to color her ball gown BLUE in all their “official” portrayals of her.
Seriously, look at the movie some time and you’ll see, the gown is WHITE when it first magically appears, and only appears BLUE as she moves through
the shadowy light of the ball and the garden with the prince. I know, it’s a small thing, but as Juliana hones her own love for this sweet story I find myself
reminded of those small things I fixated on as a child. My mom dug out the very book she used to read to me from back then, and I smile as I watch Juliana
whispering to herself as she “reads” it. She can love it all she wants, as long as she knows the cold, hard truth about the TRUE color of Cinderella’s ball gown.

(this journaling is strictly tongue-in-cheek, in case that's not obvious - lol!)
