She baked bread every week. Washed clothes in the old ringer washer every Monday morning, had them out on the line by 9AM.
My Brother Brian and I raked the Oak leaves in the front yard, and we'd run and jump into the piles of them. I always loved that smell of autumn & the leaves.
Grandpa would climb the apple tree, and Grandma would have us help gather apples as they fell, and then the next smell would be apple pie baking in her oven.
And her stove looked JUST like THIS!
Grandpa was known by my Daughters, as 'Grandpa Cookie', because he soon took over out of sheer joy of doing so, the art of baking cookies every week.
Those were the days...
How I miss them!
