Wow--that really sucks about your dad, but this is a really cool lo! I can't believe you got the same stuff that I got in the scrap pack. It's so cool to see what everyone's coming up with. This is great!
When I was very young, my parents divorced, and my dad eventually remarried and had 4 other children (my two sisters and twin brothers). Unfortunately, he made sure to keep his new family separate from his old family, for reasons of his own. Over the years, I visited them a few times and received an occasional email update and sometimes a handful of photos. I've been meaning to scrapbook some of those old photos of my siblings, and I chose to start with this picture of my sister Kaeleigh. Although I hardly know her, the fact remains that we are sisters, and I wish the best for her in life.
This was my very first 12x12 layout, and I used everything in the pack: **The green Bazzill paper was used to cover the CD and as punchies on the tags. **The index tab is hard to read, due to glare from the scanner. It says “1996”, which was the year the picture was taken. **The shrink plastic was cut into a frame/slide mount and also punched into leaves, and painted with the green paint. But the green paint just didn’t jive with the rest of the colors. So after I shrunk it, I inked it with dark green ink followed by white ink to get the color right. **The tulle was used as a background behind the two string tags. **The paint chip was used as matting for the letters of “Kaeleigh”. **Everything else can be plainly seen (ribbons, bow, paper clips, drywall tape, gold cord).
