Adorable photos. I like how you took the colors directly from the photo - it's easy to forget the photos in all the artistic fun sometimes. I love Brenda's barette photo corner idea!
Angela, cute subject and I love that song for sentimental reasons! I agree with Christy's double matting suggestion below. Also, where you have buttons drawn on the flags, I'd replace with silver eyelets to mirror the snaps on your daughter's jean jacket pockets. I also think it'd be cute to cut out a barrette like the ones in your daughter's hair and "snap" it around the bottom left brown strip or the one on the far upper right.
She is absolutely adorable! I think if you would have matted in a pink color or even double matted with the blue on the inside and the pink on the outside it would make the LO pop a lot more but other than that, i love it the way it is.
I like the color scheme and all the hand cutting/stitching. The title certainly fits her beautiful face. Maybe just one or two pieces of tiny blue ribbon interspersed with brown on left bottom flags. The brown reminds me of fence rails, and with her bluejean jacket...it fits.
I love the photos and their placement. it's great. I like the pink with the blue, it's a good color combo. However, I don't think the matting is the best color choice, it just blends in the background and looks like there is no matting. I love the faux stitching and that the circle forms a half circle. Okies so here are my suggestions. use a white matting, but not so thick. To replace those brown strips but use the same concept, I would use ribbons or different colored patterned paper to add visual elements. I love that the journaling strips are kind of like flags and I would tie them into tgether so that it looks like the same flag billowing in the wind. So I would connect them with the back part. I don't think that makes sense but I see it in my head.
Good job Angela!
Very cute slogan choice. I would finish the faux stitching down the "I" and also across on the "A". On the photos, I would tuck the matting behind the picture. I'd keep it right with the photo on top of the other one. Maybe even ink the edges to make them stand out a bit more from the background. Very cute daughter you have!
Awww this is cute. I love the stitching in the letters. Only suggestion I have is I could see some hearts doodled on the bottom left. That is an adorable picture of her!
This is my Scrap Happenzz Week 13 layout (choose a slogan/song lyric). My daughter has the most beautiful brown eyes...when we play eye-spy and the colour is brown she always says "is it my EYES?" as her first guess :) I can't take credit for these photos--they were shot by a friend, Kirstyn. All elements are hand-cut.
