This is for the Miss Tildy's scraplift challenge (based on this lo by Mary Pie 21: http://www.scrapbook.com/scrapbook_layouts/showphoto.php/photo/50099/password/0/sort/1/page/2). This lo will go in my parents' calendar.

Journaling:
For me, the game Monopoly will always be synonymous with Christmas in Michigan. When we were little, Mom and Dad started the tradition of buying a board game or two for the whole family to share each year. After Midnight Mass, we would come home to a marathon game of Monopoly, with Dad fueling us with his scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage breakfast.

Now that we’re all adults, things have changed a bit. Half of the siblings are vegetarian, so we don’t partake in Dad’s breakfast (but who will ever forget the first Christmas after Camille, Ben, and I all became vegetarian? Dad still made two-dozen eggs and a family-size package of sausages, but ended up eating most of it himself.). We have to go to an earlier evening Mass because our own kids can’t stay up too late. Chardonnay and Samuel Adams have replaced O.J. or Coke as our drink of choice. Over the years, we’ve tried to add a few new games to our repertoire, like Life, Jenga, and dominoes, but Monopoly still brings us back together—competing for control of the board!
