Hi, here's a suggestion for you. Where you have the ribbon now, you could take it off and put it around the lid and then cover the bottom part with paper or another ribbon. I think the paper and ribbon goes nicely. Hope this helps :)

I might try using some gesso on it then painting the lid. Maybe some sort of Easter decorations/charms. I would also try sanding the edge of the paper after all that to make it flush to the tins edge. HTH
