My son was awarded this medal for being instrumental in saving 19 of his fellow Marines in a potential ambush, due to his total disreguard for his own safety. Also for his quick and decisive thinking and actions after a severe vehicle accident to get his fallen brother to an evac helicopter." The journal tag reads 2004-005 "The hardest deployment for me. This was our 1st Christmas and Thanksgiving apart. I prayed and thought of you continuously. This picture was taken the night you left at the hotel, before we left for the base. Were you praying? Or were you just dreading going back there again? You made me-us proud. Your a good Marine and an excelent son. I love you, Jake.
