The story of my sweet Pom, Josie. I had her from Aug. 2003 to March 2005.
Journling reads: One day Wendy and Steve opened their front door and in walked the most beautiful Pomeranian they had ever seen. She came in the house as if she belonged there. Wendy and Steve checked with Vets and the animal shelter to see if anyone had reported her missing. Surely a dog as beautiful as her would be missed! They went door-to-door asking neighbors, but no one seemed to belong to her. They had a new baby, an ailing cat and two basset hounds; they couldn’t take care of more. They called me and asked if I might like to have her. I’d never had a dog before, only cats, but something told me to say yes. I named her Josie and we became instant friends and constant companions. In a few short months I noticed she had a cough and took her to the Vet. We discovered that Josie was a much older dog than we thought and she had a heart condition that caused fluid to build up around her heart and lungs. After many months of fighting this condition I had no choice but to have my beloved Josie put to sleep. It was so difficult to have this done but I feel I made the right decision. She was suffering and I told the vet she had been much too good a friend to let her go on. I could never replace Josie and even though I now have a soft spot for all little dogs, I’m not ready to take on the responsibility of another one.
