My dad was in the Space Needle eating in the revolving restaurant when we had an earthquake here and he said that they never felt it. Too scary for me!
This is the Seattle Center. Here's the journaling: Living in Seattle was fun and experimental. It was something I will never forget. The people, the area, the music, the culture. Jus so much else. This is one place we hung out. Just a memory for everyone...The first time that I went up to the observation deck of the Space Needle, the elevator operator told us that some odd years ago on that day was the anniversary of the sucide of the only person to jump off the observation deck, then after that they add protective "screen" so no one could ever kill themselves off there again. We also stopped on the spinning resturant so we could feel it move. They said the motor is about the size of a vacuum cleaner motor. Crazy huh?
