Journalling reads: After a long day of driving from Dallas to New Mexico, we stopped in a little town called Gallup. We found a charming hotel called 'Hotel El Rancho'. Between the 30s and 50s the hotel was used as a temporary home for movie stars that were filming Western movies in the New Mexico desert. The hotel is decorated in a Old Western style with stone walls and wooden beams. All around the hotel are balck and white photos of the movie stars including Ronald Reagan, Errol Flynn and Kirk Douglas. Our room was the one in the upper left of the photo. We could look out of the balcony to the great New Mexico landscape.
