Awesome take on the challenge. I like the idea to chalk the letters or even some torn vellum behind them too, to help them stand away from the cs.
It is a keeper LO
I really really like those mats. Those flowers are gorgeous, and love how they are popping out. I see maybe a little bit of white behind the title. I would say mat it but that may be hard..maybe chalk it?
The title, to me, seems a little faded.. it just doesnt stand out much. It may be different irl, but i'm not sure what you could do to make it stand out.. maybe white? i love all of the hand cut embellies. love your interpretation
Angela, I agree with the suggestions to extend the leaves of the upper right corner and adding more depth to your title so that it doesn't fade so much into the bg. I absolutely love your take on the challenge because it was all about using Japanese prints and anything Japanese to inspire you. As a result, you have a very well informed lo which is, more importantly, meaningful to you. I kowtow to you, mastah!
I love this one! Only thing for me is the upper right corner -can you cut some more of the white leaves and fill up the space -just a little bit. I think everything els is just perfect!
Angela, this is beautiful! The flowers are beautiful and really add a subtle Japanese flavor. Love the photo mats and the whole concept is spot on! I really love this page. The one thing I might suggest is chalking the title letters with a light chalk to create a shadow effect with them. I think that top corner needs some light and it would help the title pop at the same time. Great job, Angela! My favorite of yours thus far!
I am really loving those flowers... Are they cut by hand? I do suggest that the flowers on the top right expand a bit more to fill the space above the last picture. Other than that, great job.
This is for two challenges. First, the Scrap Happenzz Japanese theme challenge: I chose to not use my 1/2 and 1/4 respectively family members to keep to the rules ;-) Instead, I chose a bento box theme and am featuring my 4 siblings and I. Since all good things Japanese come in uneven sets, a grouping of 5 seemed perfect. I also used 5 embellishments & all are handcut...uneven numbers are considered lucky. This is also for Pammy's favourite photos challenge because these are honestly my fave photos of each of us, all taken by me except the one of myself that I coached my young sister to shoot. The bottom left one I am very proud of because I developed it in a darkroom more than 16 years ago. The journaling reads: "My siblings will always be special to me and I love that we are each our own person too. April '07" TFL! :)
