Well, this started out as a lift of #13, but the only thing I ended up lifting was the journaling circle.
Journaling reads: You truly are a miracle. A miracle of love, but also a miracle of modern day medicine. My wonderful doctor, Dr. Oredein, had determined from my last miscarriage that I would need hormone therapy to get through the first trimester. But before we got through that, I had some bleeding. That was my first ambulance trip to the hospital in Chesapeake. And after I had been seen by the emergency room doctor, Dr. Oredein came in with condolences and hopes for the next pregnancy. We were kind of shocked since no one had said that I had miscarried. Luckily, before performing the DNC, Dr. Oredein wanted an ultrasound for confirmation. I have to say that seeing your heartbeat brought on the most extraordinary relief I’ve ever felt. We cried we were so happy. That was when I was diagnosed with placenta previa, the placenta was attached over the cervix. I would have to be extra careful, stay off my feet more and not do any lifting of any kind. I had 2 more trips to the emergency clinic in Nags Head. One time, the doctor there came in and said, “Now, I’m going to palpitate your cervix.” To which I said, “You’re not going to do any such thing. You’re not going to touch me again until you talk to my doctor.” He never came back and I went to Chesapeake in an ambulance again. The third time I went, Dr. Oredein didn’t let me go home. Instead, he sent me to spend the rest of my pregnancy on bedrest at your Grandma T's house. And we scheduled a c-section 2 weeks early as a precaution. Yes, you truly are a miracle!
