OMG! My heart sank when I started reading your journaling! I am so glad she is ok, and that she does have a great outlook on life! Love the title you went with, it is perfect!
it is hard to scrap difficult moments, espec cause you relive the memory but when SHE gets olders and reads and enjoys the page, it's priceless. Very nice LO, love the torn look and I love SEI paper too-very girly
This is a totally amazing layout, especially the journaling & of course the picture of your dd. You can't scrap just the good memories, sometimes it helps give a little sigh of relief, when you scrap other moments in your life. Anyways, Great job!
I love how you turned a horrible moment into something that she can be proud of. What a trooper she is. I know how you felt. My daughter was bit by a dog too.
What a remarkable layout. THe design is wonderful and the title is arresting. The journaling, though, is what is the most compelling. You did a wonderful job turning a terrible event into something that will give your daughter a sense of self reliance. great job.
Such a terrible thing to happen to your baby - but, you have done a wonderful job preserving that memory in a positive way. Focusing on your daughter's "outlook". Great journaling!
My DD when she was attacked by a dog last summer. My scanner cut off the black CS around the edges. Journaling reads: July 1, 2006. It happened so fast. I turned my head for just a second to fix your plate. When I suddenly heard screaming & crying and saw the other parents running toward the backyard, my stomach dropped & in my heart I knew it was you. I jumped over chairs, plants (and several small children) and reached you just as you were rounding the corner, your face covered in blood and dirt. We were so blessed to have Daniela there. She immediately slipped into nurse mode and took over. We calmed you down (you, not me), cleaned you up, and realized the dog had bitten you on your lip, gum, and forehead. Since he was a stray and the bite was in your mouth, we took you to the ER. By the time we got there I could barely remember your middle name when the nurse asked me, I was so upset. You, however, were chatting up all the doctors and nurses, showing out in your bikini and flip flops. I was terrified, guilt-ridden, a complete mess, but you were so brave. When we left the hospital I just wanted to take you home, but you said, 'I didn't get any cake or ice cream yet.' When we got back to the party one of the other moms asked what had happened, to which you replied, 'That doggie ate me!'. Although I wish I could erase this memory forever, I am compelled to preserve it because it is such a perfect reflection of your amazing outlook on life. You have such an undeniable spirit, a refusal to let anything hold you down. I pray you never lose this ability to always make the best of whatever life sends your way. You humble and amaze me. Forever Love, Mommy April 2007.
