An excursions at Christmas went some like this.

Journaling read:" OK, so it wasn't the best idea in the world, but it was fun! Ben had received a brochuer from somewhere abouta bird of prey refuge/sanctuary outside of Boise. We all thought it was a great idea so we piled into the car and set off. Now it never even crossed our mind that the pictures were all from summer, or that it was probably colder outside of town, but it should have! The previous day there had been a snow storm and the results of that storm were still all over the road. Then we noticed the wind and all the tumbleweeds. At this point Rob and Ben decided that they wanted to climb this rather large pile of ice covered boulders. The final thing that made us really stupid that day though, was this. We all decided to get out of the car, hike a couple of hundred yards through ankle deep snow and go to the lookout at teh Sanke River Canyon. It was absolutly beautiful, but the windchill factor made it impossible to feel our faces, hands and feet. So we all trudged back to the car and went home, vioing that we would never be that stupid again!
