WOW, what a special evening you spent with Santa and your family! These are the memories that families are made of! Thank you for scrapping this special time, for the wonderful journaling and for sharing it with us!!
This is fantastic! The LO as well as the whole story told in the journaling! They will love this one day, sooner than you think unfortunately. Well done Grandma!
Lo I did of Santa's visit to our house. Journalling reads: Geordie offered to 'do' Santa for the girls again this year. Lin made him the most amazing costume and he loves to play Santa for the kids. We invited Mick, Sab and Ashlee, Geordie and Lin, Drew and Bree and the girls round to our place for a pre Christmas dinner. After we had eaten, Geordie left to go home and feed the dogs, while we all went to sit in the back garden so the girls could run around and play. Suddenly a bell started ringing very close by, and a very loud and gruff voice was shouting out ‘HO, HO, HO’. Chloe and Pheobe's heads shot up and they both had the most amazed looks on their faces, Chloe started racing inside shouting 'Its Santa! Its Santa!' followed very closely by Pheobe. Poor little Ash had no idea what was going on, Santa doesn't mean much to her just yet. By the time the adults got into the house....quite a way behind the kids I might add......they had the front door open and were chatting away to Santa ten to the dozen. Pheobe was actually holding Santa's hand and telling him to come inside. Santa spent quite some time with the girls chatting and laughing, they thought they were so special. Ash was still too young to understand and didn't like Santa at all. When she was put on his lap, she burst into tears, so we didn't get any photo's of her with him. The girls all got a present from Santa and then he had to leave to go back to his elves and make sure all the presents were ready to deliver on Christmas day. Just as he was leaving, he turned to Chloe and said 'Oh, I nearly forgot, you sent me a letter, that you wrote at school, saying that you would really like a photo of my reindeer?' Chloe's eyes got as round as saucers and the look of disbelief on her face was so funny, it was all we could do not to break up laughing, but we restrained ourselves. She nodded her head 'yes'. Santa dug right to the bottom of his sack and after some huffing and puffing, produced 2 photo's of his reindeer 'off duty'. With that he rang his bell, said a hearty ‘good-bye’ and disappeared out the front door. We all went into the back garden again to marvel at Santa coming to visit OUR house before Christmas, JUST to see our girls AND that he remembered that Chloe wanted photo's, and he’d actually brought them. This was a night the girls will always remember and the look of wonder on their faces will always stay with us. Its funny, but the girls know Geordie really well, and even though he disappeared before Santa arrived and came back only a few minutes after Santa left, the girls were none the wiser. THATS THE WONDER OF BEING A CHILD.......THE MAGIC LIVES ON!
