Very cool! ;) What is it with kids and rocks? I remember when I was little I would try to sandpaper them and spray paint them. Or if my Dad wouldn't give me spray paint I'd sneak my Mom's nailpolish. :) Love the elements you used here, and your journaling is great!
Absolutely LOVE this. I love the pics, I love the journalling and I love how you have kept a memory for your child long into the future. Thats very special.
It's amazing how something so simple can make my ds so happy. This rock is one of those funny things he brings home and wants to keep. Once he actually brought a bug home from school and wanted to keep it. Needless to say I insisted he "set it free"! :0 I left the LO pretty stark, keeping in theme with the "laboratory" he imagined we were in. TFL!
Journaling: When you brought this rock home from school the other day, I thought it was just an ordinary rock. Oh how wrong mothers can sometimes be. In your eyes the rock was very special. You said you wanted to "smelt" it. Smelt? Yes, smelt. You then informed me that when you smelt the rock, it would turn into a crystal. Didn't I see I see all the green crystals on the rock? Then it dawned on me. Alright, "s'MELT" it. Gotcha. So for the next few days you held it, gave it a bath a few times, and never let it out of your sight. I decided to take a few pictures of this special rock. As I did, your mind began to work its' magic. We were suddenly in a laboratory. You envisioned a great, big light overhead as you squinted your eye to examine it. When we were done, you carefully placed it back on its' shelf. What a special rock. I have to say, I love your imagination. May it never fade!
