I think you need to trim up the top-right photo--it's dominating a little too much because it's the only 4 x 6 there & you have trim room at the top & left of it. I think if you trim that you can build that bottom-left picture on the 2nd page in a bit because right now it's too far down on that page in contrast with where you have everything else placed. I like your left page...wouldn't change a thing.
Love the colors and photo placement, and I especially love the way you tied in the pp from the left to the right page. I do like the photos flush with the edges on the right side, but I can see Katie's point about the ones on the left not being that way. You can remedy this by trimming each of the photos just a hair so that the blue appears all the way around the page. As for the journaling block, I have a different suggestion for you. I like it as a rectangle to tie in with the title mats on the left. Instead, cut another smaller pp circle, and use it as the bg for the first capital letter (in the same blue as DEMF) of your journaling (like they do in those fancy fairy tale books). I think this will move the eye from the title to the journaling.
Mel, nice job! Once again, looks like a party. I know my invitation must've gotten lost in the mail, AGAIN. I wouldn't change much about the left side, except maybe move everything up, use some of that tan cardstock and put a little date at the bottom. That page wants some more solid, it told me so. On the right side, I'm good with it. The only thing that I would suggest is to maybe make some smaller circles similar to the big 'uns and use them to anchor the journaling block. You know, like in some corner or something. Ok, this is avant guarde but I would suggest the journaling in the block be very doodle-esque. Maybe draw some with a pencil and then write on the swirling lines just to repeat the theme of the paper. Love this. I can't wait until we go to DEMF 2007, gonna go check the mailbox now for the invite.
Love the colors & placement. Also love how you tied the right side to the left by using circles of the same pp. Nice contrasting matting here. I really like this!
Mel, you can cut some of the sides of the pics: like the one that is in the middle row with the 3 ppl. You can cut a little bit on the top on the same photo and cut some on the top of the photo with the couple-the one on the left side at the bottom.Just make those two photos the same size and see how it will look if you move the photo of the guy on the top the photo that is now on top in the middle and then the other 2 photos on the bottom. Hope this helps.
Love the colors! On the right pg: move the middle two photos and the top one to the left a little bit ( so you can see the blue bg), then move the bottom one to the right so it's flushed on the left with the middle photos. You can [put the circles on top of the photos a little bit. Then make the journaling block a circle - you can use the same light cs that you have now and mat it with the brown pp.I think you should leave the left pg the way it is. Hope this makes sense to you.
I think it would make more sense to not have the photos on the right page flush against the edges of the bg paper, since they aren't on the left - it would look cleaner.
:D
great photo placement on the left. love the circles of pp you put on the right, makes my eyes flow to that side. however, i would move that picture that's on the bottom left of the right page over to the right underneath the other photos, and move the journaling block over to the left. so, just switch those 2 things. Other than that, it looks great.
This is a LO of the Detroit Electronic Music Festival 2006. On page 2, that is a journaling block on the bottom. Nothing stuck down so suggest away on this one to :)
