At the age of 25 months, my ds wasn't coordinated enough to see the bird nest through the binoculars without my help, but that didn't diminish his joy and happiness when it came to discovering how amazing binoculars could be. Whenever my ds feels like he has accomplished something to be proud of (in this case, it was holding up the binoculars to his eyes-though his aim was off) he claps his hands. I included the smaller picture to show that after setting the binoculars down on the windowsill, he couldn't contain his happiness and clapped for himself. The journaling reads: Andrew, you were so excited to find bird nests in the eaves of our patio covering. But more exciting than that was seeing the birds close-up with binoculars! The pure joy and delight on your face, is for me...what happiness is. TFL!
