Absolutely awesome - I love the plans and then the finished product! You are so lucky to have such a great looking house! Love how you created the title!
This is so great Tiff! I love the idea of doing a page about your house since buying/building one is such a huge life event that most would never think to preserve the memory of... I think my favorite part of this LO is the arrow. It is the perfect thing to show the transition from BW sketches to a reality... And the different ways you did the text! Wonderful! Suggestions... The fact that the heart with your address on it is simply black and white is a little off to me.. I guess I would expect only the sketches to be that way and since house is in color so should it's address.. Maybe I'm an odd ball... I think even just a slight bit of color like using a pink pen to retrace where the black lines of the heart are would be just enough.
Good decision with the b/w switch. Love the way you switched up your title and the arrow, and placement of said arrow in relation to the placement of the pictures is spot-on! One thought, the "the", maybe big that up and let it overlap the arrow a bit and yet take up some of that space to it's right? See that empty space above "plans"? Why not another arrow, but a straight one, pointing back up to the blueprints? That space is only bugging me slightly though... great as-is and does a fine job telling the story. When's the pool party?
Ah, I can see now why the b/w was better than the blue. Good executive decish on your part. The arrow does a very good job of redirecting the attention. I like the triple matting and all the fonts. Great title. I think boxy works here. I love the distressed look to the paper and the bold red heart. I'm wondering if "best laid" should be in red and "plans" in tan, instead. I'm also wondering where I'll be spending the night when I come visit. Move over kids! So, did you opt for all the optionals?
Great subject to scrap! Love the B&W photos of the plans, the arrow pointing at the finished house is great , and the title is cool! All I can see is one more heart-next to " best laid", above the " plans".
tiff, i love it! love the pp. the arrow really draws my attention down to that picture. I do lik that you put the plans in black and white, I think the blue would have distracted from the LO. I love the different fonts.. I dont see a single thing i'd do differently
Tiff, this LO is too cool! I love the colors and the triple matting on the bottom picture! It really helps give a photo focal point. The title is great with the inclusion of the heart for the "home" awesome idea.
Tiffany, this is excellent! Love everything about this - the placement of the plans, the way the title tumbles down & w/ the arrow leads to the photo, the colors w/ the contrasting mattes, those sincere-looking folk heart shapes (as opposed to the perfectly plumped hearts, kwim?). I love all the fonts in the title, each is so expressive of the words. Oh my goodness, I think a certain someone gave you that arrow from your wishlist, awesome! Fabulous, I see no signs of LO-struggle here, only a great LO.
Okies Tiff, this page is exactly my vocation .. well, if I was a civil engineer maybe! But I've been CADDing all day and I look at your drawing full of CADDs. How freaking cools? They look good in B&W, I am glad you changed them. Love the scenic route stuff, it goes well with what you chose. I think your photo placement is good and I like how he title guides itself across the page. But I do think it's a bit too boxy. I would have made the title flow more with soft curves instead of the boxes. I love the different mix of fonts!
the best laid plans still need lots of love to be a home. These are the plans that we received when our house was being built and the backyard landscaping plans. I have been struggling with this LO for a while. My street is blurred for privacy, please excuse. Thanks for looking!
