I did this one for a good friend of mine who is an amazing single Mom. I chose this poem to reflect the picture.

Sons Mothers Footprints in the Sand

Sitting musing while reading
he toyed in thoughtful strife
Why were there but one set of footprints
certain times in life

Why did Jesus not walk with the man
every step all the way?
Was he talking to much,
did God get bored and walk away

Carefully I replied to him,
try seeing your Mother like God
She's literally with you
every step of lifes road you'll trod

There will be times it seems
as if you walk that path alone
Yet in prayers as your heart,
your mother will always roam

The times like Jesus and the man,
when you see only one set
Don't let this beat you,
make you feel down and don't regret

Times like this when you see
only one set of footprints on show
It's then your Mothers carrying you
even if she struggles so

And if being carried
then only your Mothers footprints reflect
This is just what Jesus did
with that the man to the same effect

Son, you're my child and I love you,
I'd carry you to life's end
I'll carry you as an Angel also
if Angel wings Heaven might send

His silence was daunting
he sat reading in thoughtful pose
He must have thought a while,
his words were carefully chose

He looked at me teary eyed,
breaking out such a beautiful smile
I understand Mother, one day
I'll carry you, even if a hundred mile
