Brenda, where have you been hiding these skills? This LO looks like you went out of your comfort zone but wherever you were when you did it, you should go there more often! I love it, I am going to steal your "atom" idea, just so you know and the comic book lightening zaps, too much. Everything about it so cool, I keep looking at it over and over. Also love the banner for your title and how the letters graduate in size. It's outta this world and I wouldn't change a single thing!
Bren woman, this is awesome. I lovelovelovelove. Soo freaking innovative. I love to journal inside of the lightning bolts. I love the huge title. Love the atomic thang.
My only suggestion is to mat the yellow title in black cause when you look at comic books things are always matted in black. Love the black outlines in the letter and the flow across the page!
This LO is awesome! It is too much fun. Love the bold title, the photos and the clean lines. The atomic thingy with dee in the middle is an awesome added bonus and the lightening bolts are simply electric!
Love the addition of sleepy Dee! Especially her location, nestled in the planet/atomic particle. This is excellent - so fun & funny! Love that this satisfies the challenge in technique but differs from the typical "clean & simple" idea by being alive w/ colors & patterns! Love the journaling bolts, photos & placement. & I also agree w/ Tiff, this would also be great for the storytelling category!
I am still laughing at this LO! and I can't even see it right now. lol. Love the photos, and photo placement. This could definitely go into the story telling and funny categories as well. subtle, but very very nice change to the previous LO. still loving it!
Ha!!!!!!!!!!! I am so freakin' in love with this LO. Ya' know, Brenda....this would be a good submission for clean and simple, funny, and storytelling. Hilarious! I have nothing bad to say about this LO, but get ready for the good. The pictures are great! (Goggles are sooooo you, btw.) I like the subtlety in the mat for the photos it seems like one big photo block divided by the title. Perfect segue.....The title is perfect. It draws my eye to the pictures and I love that. Your bolts are perfect for the journaling. Finally, the atomic particle with the date, dare I say....Genius? Yes! Fantabulicously beautimus! Due to my complete and total love of voyeurism, I LOVE the little picture of Dee peeking out of the atomic particle. That had to be quite the surprise! Nice job, Brenda!!!!
This is for the SHCG Week #20 WC which was to create a lo to enter in the Clean & Simple category of the Lucky 7 Contest. I'm hoping to show that the category doesn't necessarily mean a ton of white space or plain cs, but can also mean simple techniques and clean lines. Journaling reads: 1:30am We leave the karaoke bar. Eric's home from London. We decide to be the first to greet Dee a Happy Mother's Day. We arm ourselves with Gabby's toys and Dee's camera, while Jesse reluctantly wakes her up. I thought of smattering some small circles of various sizes, spirals, and an asterisk on the title block, but decided against it. Another thing I considered was adhering teeny little rhinestones in different colors here and there, but not sure about that either given the contest category. The title letters are finely outlined in black like the lightning bolts.
