ok... i know that the picture is a little close up, but the blue and yellow of that kiddy pool just had me all disgruntled... can't they just make kid's toys in ANYTHING other than primary colors!?! I was about 2 steps away from spray painting this thing!! grrr. anyway... i'm sure this is probably the universal reaction of most toddlers when 1st introduced to the concept of sitting and playing in cold water. But gage... was OVERLY excited from day one... so this threw me off a little. i just KNEW she would love it. oh well... surely once the heat of the summer kicks in and she wants to play outside in a heat index of the ever so frequent 112... maybe she won't be so reluctant. =)

JOURNALING: After your discovery of the water hose, I was just certain you would have so much fun with a little kiddy pool. So while you were napping, Gage and I got it all set up. We filled it up with water so the sun would have the water nice and warm by the time you woke up. Once you woke up, I put you in your cute little swimsuit, grabbed the camera and headed out back. You eagerly walked outside, stopped, and peeked around to the side of the yard at this big blue and yellow circle. You were intrigued. Gage took your hand and led the way. He stepped into the pool to show you how it was done. You lifted your foot over the side and slowly placed it in the water... then promptly screamed. I came over to comfort you and assured you it was okay. I finally managed to coax you into getting in and sitting down. You sat there just like this for less than 3 minutes, got out and haven’t gone back in since. You are more than happy to put everything you can get your hands on into the pool and love watching the splash, but overall, you were pretty much unimpressed. Hmmm... go figure. Maybe we need a bigger pool.
