This is me and my friend Holly a year ago in January. They were about to shipped tp Japan (they're in the Air Force) for several years. A bunch of us life long friends got together and threw them a surprise party. Holly and I have known each since we were 6 yrs old when we were in the same twirling group together. She's my longest running friend. :) JOURNALING: Wow. You never know how much you miss someone until you see them again. Our track record for seeing each other isn’t very good. but we do the best we can with the circumstances we’ve been given. Our time of knowing each other spands back 26 yrs ago when we were both 6 yrs old. That is beyond amazing to me. We’ve come a long way since those twirling days. Two and a half decades gives plenty of opportunity for change.
But one that has never changed is you constant and faithful support. We’ve both have been blessed to be part of each other’s weddings and shared the experience of childbirth. Although for you it’s been 3 times. I doubt you’ll ever know how much I miss you. Or how many times I’ve regretted not calling or emailing more often. Or disappointed for not making more of an effort to come and see y’all and now you’re in Japan. And who knows when I’ll see you again.
On this night we got to surprise y’all with a going away party. I hope you felt how much you were loved and cherished, not just by me, but everyone there. May God guide and protect your family while you are serving our country and may He bring you back stateside soon so I have chance to correct all my regrets.
