The first lo I ever completed on myself. Challenge was to scrap a childhood memory. Journaling reads: "I guess you could say I've always been a bit of a TOMBOY - always a blue jeans and tennis shoes kind of girl. My love of the Chuck Taylor began in elementary school when a girl up the road owned a pair. To me, even the fact that they were PINK didn't make them any less cool. I would have taken a pair in heartbeat - pink and all! But I didn't get to own a pair of CHUCK TAYLORS until I was in high school. It was worth the wait! They were black & white checked, the last pair on the rack, and a little SNUG but they were, without a doubt, PERFECT! These days my definition of a perfect pair of shoes may be a little different but even now, as a 30-YEAR-OLD wife and mom, I still like to slip inot some old jeans & a pair of Chucks every now and again - just to make sure that tomboy girl who fell in LOVE with that first pair of pink chucks is still around!
