Oh man, I love this! What a wonderful job you did with the tree effect. Is that a particular kind of paper or did you draw all those little lines??? I love the way you scalloped the edges of the photos and even slipped through a little place you cut! Great work. Oh, by the way, great photos too!!!
Journaling reads: "We spent the weekend at my cousin Charlotte's cabin in Blairsville, Georgial. The cabin was oringinally built in the 1850's. It has been fixed up, a bathroom addded, and it is decorated with lots of antiques. We shopped the antique malls and met with Charlotte and her friend for dinner one night." The idea for this layout came from ScrappyDoo2U's Memphis Zoo pages. I used a "Deluxe Cuts Color Blocking Template" for the general outline for the mat (the top page). I drew everything off on white paper and figured out how my photos would fit behind each opening then stuck the white paper on top of my brown piece of paper and cut everything out with an xacto knife. Then I inked all the edges of all the openings. Then I doodled all the little lines on the tree and limbs. Then, I cut out leaf shapes (from 7 different pieces of green)with deckle scissors, inked the edges and added the lines. Then placed the pictures behind the mat and the leaves on top. After I placed the pictures, there were still several empty holes, so I placed a whole sheet of tan paper on the back and filled in with journaling, stickers, and cut-outs.
