A True Hero

I am really on an old photo kick right now. This one is of my grandfather while he served in World War II. My journaling reads: "Grandpa McFerrin was a TRUE World War II HERO. While stationed in Italy, he served as 1st Sgt. He received a Legion of Merit award for his outstanding performance as 1st Sgt. It was also said that he "displayed a rare quality of leadership" and did an "impeccable job of keeping the troops' morale high." He was later awarded a Purple Heart.
