This LO is for the Lucky 7s contest. I made this layout to tell the story of my cat attack and how hard it was to have another pet afterward. The article is an actual article from our local paper. Names and locations blurred for privacy. Journaling reads: I have always had at least one pet. Dogs, cats, birds, fish, mice, a rat, an iguana, and even a snake. I never imagined that one of them would be a threat. That was until I got Louie. Louie was a stray cat I took in and for quite some time all was normal. Then he developed a bit of a temper. It wasn't a huge deal at first, but one day he flipped and attacked me to the point of needing to go to the hospital. I still didn't lose hope. I thought it would be an isolated incident, but I was wrong. Not a week later he attacked again and this time more viciously than I could have ever imagined. This time the police actually had to come along with Animal Control to rescue me. Again I was hospitalized and the incident even ended up on the news and in the papers. Not only did this leave me with physical scars that still have yet to fade, but also left me with emotional scars that have caused me to lose my breath and break a sweat in the presence of a cat. I vowed never to have another cat. That is, until I met Bull's-eye. A friend of mine told me to come over because he had a surprise. Little did I know it was a kitten. A kitten who looked identical to Louie. He wanted me to take it so they wouldn't have to take it to the SPCA. At first I didn't want anything to do with it. I couldn't even consider it, but then I held her. She cuddled up to me and suddenly I couldn't bear the thought of her being homeless. I took her home and now she is my baby. One of the family. It was hard at first, but I've learned to trust again.
