Title (printed on photo):
"Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue,
and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true”
Journaling:
I was sitting on the patio after work one evening, feeling slightly sorry for myself. I had been suffering from job burnout after 14 years at the same job and the fourth day in a row of working overtime. I was also wondering why two of my three grand-children had to live so far away. I couldn’t understand why I wasn’t getting to see them grow up. Why isn’t life exciting? Why do I have to grow older and older. How did I get to be a grand- mother anyway? And why did it have to rain today when I just wanted to sit on the patio without getting wet? About that time the clouds parted and a ray of sun shined brightly through the rain. As I looked up again I saw it . . . a beautiful, bright rainbow. It was dazzling and I was in awe. I grabbed the camera and hurriedly took a few photos. But the rainbow didn’t fade as they usually do. It stayed brightly colored in all its glory for a long time. During that time I started thinking. I have a very good job. It pays well and I am very comfortable in my job. I live in a nice, middle-class home that I love. I have my own scrap room. All three of my grandchildren are happy and healthy. My children are terrific parents. I got to be a grandmother by raising an amazing family. My children are now teaching my grandchildren the same values that my mother and father taught me. I am a very lucky lady. I also realized that life is exciting if you make it exciting. And it was raining so that the corn, beans and other crops, in the newly planted fields, would sprout and grow. Wow, all this from a rainbow? You bet! Rainbows do have magical powers and the dreams that you dream on them really do come true! -April, 2007
I printed the photo on white textured cardstock and was surprised that it turned out as clear and beautiful as the original photo.
Thanks for looking :)
Thanks for spreading positivity!
